The Rabbitohs met the Narromine Jets in three grades in Saturday's trial at Barden Park.
The league tag side's performance was a highlight, scoring a victory, while the senior side featuring players from first grade and reserves was full of effort in a loss.
It was a welcome showing from those two sides after the club issued a desperate plea for players due to a numbers "crisis" just last week.
"Seniors and women's numbers have had a massive increase in players at training in the last week but we could always use more," Westside secretary Brooke Mallison said.
"The boys thoroughly enjoyed being back on the paddock on the weekend. All that practice that's done in training was all falling into place."

While there are plenty of positives for the club leading up to round one on April 28, the situation in the under 18s remains a real problem.
Just six Westside players were on hand on Saturday but the Jets helped out to make sure all those there still got a game.
"The junior situation is still a massive worry," Mallison said.
"If we don't get those numbers up who knows where we go from here."
Mallison urged any young player interested to put their hand up and help out, with the club training from 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Riverbank Ovals.
"Anyone who is wanting to join the juniors can always use their active kids vouchers if they qualify for it, to go towards the cost of registration," she added.
