The latest addition was born on February 24.
It was the first born to mum Havana, who is showing all the right maternal behaviours when caring for and nursing her baby.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
At present the baby is clinging tightly to Havana's tummy but will soon start to look around more and reach out to explore nearby items from the comfort and protection of mum.
The baby will then start to interact more with the other members of the group, including the older juveniles. Spider monkeys are not completely independent until they're three-years-old.
The last black handed spider monkey was born in October. Before that, two babies were born in 2017.
"There are so many new arrivals to see these school holidays with the giraffe calves and spider money baby but also Asian elephant calf Kanlaya is now a very confident young elephant and is exploring her surrounds and interacting with older cousin Sabai, which is great to see," keeper Nick Bourke said.
