Organised by Orana Residents of Indian Sub-Heritage (ORISCON) and the Western Plains Cultural Centre, the event is a celebration of cultures and inclusion.

The Cross Cultural Carnival will be held on Saturday April 6 from 5pm at Victoria Park No. 2 Oval.

There will be cultural artefacts on display, entertainment - such as cultural dances, workshops to learn a few moves and performances from Dubbo Ballet School - stalls with cultural costumes and henna tattoos, food and cooking demonstrations.

Authentic Indian, Sri Lankan, Nepalese and Bangladeshi food will be available to buy. No meal will cost more than $12.

The aim of the event is to foster cultural awareness and inclusiveness. To achieve this, ORISCON has created fusions, such as using the sound of the didgeridoo with the beats of the tabla (Indian drum).

There will also be sharing of foods from different cultures and cultural costume demonstrations.

Entry into the event is free.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic chair or rug.

The Cross Cultural Carnival is supported by Dubbo Regional Council and Multicultural NSW.

It's the fourth year the event has been held. Last year, about 600 people attended the Cross Cultural Carnival.
