The Combined Prostate Cancer Support Groups of Rural NSW is running the Regional and Rural NSW Prostate Cancer Conference on May 4 and 5.
It will include "awareness" sessions for members and the public about the disease, treatment options and support services.
Between 2011 and 2015 prostate cancer was the most common type of cancer for men in in the Western NSW Local Health District.
There were 1479 cases of prostate cancer representing 29.8 per cent of all cancer cases.

The Combined Prostate Cancer Support Groups of Rural NSW is made up of support groups in cities including Dubbo, Orange, Bathurst, Mudgee, Broken Hill and Griffith.
Its secretary, Dubbo's Elizabeth Allen OAM, reports that medical specialists from Dubbo, Tamworth and Sydney will speak at the sessions along with representatives of groups such as Cancer Council NSW, Macquarie Home Stay and the Continence Foundation of Australia.
The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia's new chief executive officer Professor Jeff Dunn AO will address the crowd at one of two dinners planned for support group members.
Mrs Allen is keen to see Western NSW residents take advantage of the sessions running from 8.30am to 4.30pm on May 4, and 9am to 1pm on May 5, at Dubbo RSL Memorial Club.
"But we would like them to register because we are giving them morning tea and lunch," she said.
