A POLICE investigation has commenced following the theft of nine firearms from a property in the Central West.

The theft occurred from a property on Pangee Road in Nyngan between Friday March 22 and Saturday March 23.
"The property caretaker notified police about 2pm on Saturday, March 23, when he noticed the firearms were missing," NSW Police State Rural Crime Co-ordinator Detective Inspector Cameron Whiteside said.
"Nine firearms were stolen from a gun safe."
Det Insp Whiteside said rural crime investigators attached to the Central North Police District attended the property and commenced an investigation.
"Detectives urge anyone who may have information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000," he said.
