Kathleen and her now husband, Matthew wed in Mudgee on the day of their 16^th anniversary, choosing the area because of her family's history in the region.

Kathleen's Grandmother, Nancy Nott - who turned 100 last September - was an official witness to her granddaughter's wedding.

Nancy moved to from Victoria to Dunedoo with her husband David in 1945 where together they built the homestead at Bindaree, Cobbora, and raised their three children.

They even had pieces of family history transplanted into their ceremony.

"My grandfather planted an acorn tree and my mother grew up under that we managed to get part of that tree present on the wedding day. Not only that, we had cutting from rosemary which came from the family farm."

Kathleen said she knows how fortunate she is.

"Not everybody has the privilege of having their grandparents and great grandparents and children all there on such a beautiful occasion," she said.

"In September last year at her 100^th birthday I asked her if she's be a witness at my wedding, of course she was thrilled but I told her it had to be kept a secret. We weren't planning on there being too many people there initially,"

"We were going to have it out at Dunedoo, half my family is probably from there [laughs] but we needed something really special and a bit bigger. So we chose Parklands."

Kathleen and her husband have already made plans to come back to Mudgee for their first wedding anniversary.
