It would be unwise to take anything away from the previous meeting between the two teams where an understaffed Platypi were hammered by 64 points.
Panorama now get the opportunity for revenge in the game that matters most - and with a full side.
Bathurst's Haylee Lepaio was part of that small Panorama squad who took to the field last time against the Goannas and didn't have an experience to remember.
"We only had nine players, no subs, and it's probably the worst beating in sport I've ever had," she said of the 68-4 result.
"It's hard with people at weddings and working over weekends but it's looking like we'll have a full side this weekend."
It's been a struggle for not just the Platypi but several other clubs this season to get numbers together for matches.
Goannas earned a free path through to the decider after their semi-final opponents Castlereagh couldn't get enough players together to field a side.
It's unsurprising to see Platypi and Goannas meet in the decider given that 13 of the 18 Western Rams representatives who played Monaro Colts on Saturday were from one of the two sides.
That familiarity with each other's game will make for an interesting match.
"A couple of girls from the Panorama side know a few of the Goannas players through Western Rams and we know they've got a fair bit of league under their belts with things like the Koori Knockout," Lepaio said.
"We'll probably try and work it up the middle a bit before working it out wide because some of our speedy girls will be there ready to go."
Despite the difficulties with player numbers Lepaio said the future looks good for the Western Women's Rugby League competition.
"It's great having the extra teams but there's really nowhere else in the year that it would fit in," she said.
"People have had other commitments some weeks but it's great having the tackle competition and it helps you get ready for other sports later in the year."
The grand final at Wellington's Kennard Park will get underway from 2.15pm on Sunday, and follows the 15s grand final between the Goannas and Orange Vipers at 1pm.
