Benjamin Charles Cusack, 19, did not enter pleas to charges of not stopping in a police pursuit, driving in a dangerous manner, not displaying P-plates and negligent driving when he faced Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday.
He is accused of refusing to stop for police who started a pursuit about 9pm on Tuesday, after he allegedly drove a Toyota Hilux onto the Tracker Riley Cycleway, which is closed to vehicular traffic.
According to police documents tendered to the court during a bid for bail, Mr Cusack then allegedly turned off the vehicle's main lights and turned on a rear spotlight - before driving down Whylandra Street, over a nature strip and without P-plates on display.
Police allege that in doing so, the vehicle's offside tyres lifted off the ground several centimeters and traveled a short distance on two wheels before crashing to the ground, the documents tendered to the court show.
Mr Cusack then allegedly led police down Mansour Street before turning onto Young Street and crashing through an Australian Rail Track Corporation gate.
Police found the Hilux crashed into a large stormwater drain.
When they approached the vehicle two passengers were there, including one with a badly broken arm.
Police allege Mr Cusack ran off before he returned to the scene a short time later and was arrested.
In court the next day his application for bail was opposed by the prosecution.
"There seems to be a pattern of a non-willingness, or lack of ability, to comply with road rules at an escalating level which is putting the community at risk," the prosecutor said.
On Wednesday, Mr Cusack pleaded guilty to unrelated charges of drink-driving and driving with a suspended licence in September, and mid-range drink-driving in December.
Mr Cusack was granted bail on conditions he be of good behaviour, not drive and reside at a Wongarbon address.
He will reappear in court on May 1.
