The incident occurred at approximately 2.45pm on the Mitchell Highway between Wellington and Geurie.
Police are still investigating the exact cause of the collision, but have determined that a 'strong impact' between a stock truck transporting animals and a sedan occurred.
"As a result, one of the pens enclosing ten cows came adrift from the truck and spilled onto the road," A police spokesperson said.
"The cows have been released, three of which had to be destroyed by police on-site, the other seven have been corralled into a paddock."
No loss of human life or serious injury occurred during the collision.
Police investigations are ongoing.
