Police said the watch was located at a recreational facility in the Narromine shire within the last nine months.
The blue Casio watch has the words 'Michael - love mum and dad 2.11.99' engraved on the inside face.
Narromine Police Sergeant Michael Smith said they are hoping they can return the sentimental-looking item to its rightful owner.
"This item appears to have been a gift and as such would hold some sentimental value to its owner and their parents," Sergeant Smith said.
"For those reasons alone, I would like to do all we can to get it back to its rightful owner."
