Monopoly and Battle of the Sexes had tables of people enthralled and forgetting about their mobile phones recently, the host said.
The Red Barrel Wine House owner Donnamaree O'Neill has brought out the old favourites for her new concept of Wine Down Wednesdays - and they are finding fans.
One keen table of patrons played Battle of the Sexes last week, while another enjoyed the challenge of card game Uno, she said.
The business owner and mother of five would like to see more people "having fun, catching up" and making new friends.
The weekly Wine Down Wednesdays are already hitting the mark and getting people together in real time.
"Look it was really funny because there was no phones on the table, would you believe, which was a very big surprise," Mrs O'Neill said.
"We didn't actually notice it until the phone rang and it was still in one of the lady's handbags."
Entry to the events is by gold coin donation, to go to charity.
Donations are currently going to Stars of Dubbo Dance for Cancer, via contestant Lachlan Cusack.
The Red Barrel in Macquarie Street is Mrs O'Neill's latest venture.
Already the owner of Two Doors Wine and Tapas Lounge since 2016, she opened the sister business in the premises above in September.
