And that's the big part of that - events to support and things to get behind.
The Dubbo community is a great one for supporting others, we've raised funds for so many groups in the past from medical groups, to sporting teams to individuals.
And this weekend there are a lot of opportunities to support our community through some fantastic events.
Kick starting the weekend is the Tradies breakfast, with Ingenia Gardens holding their annual fundraiser for Livin in memory of Perry Merideth.
The group will host a breakfast from 7.30am with bacon and egg rolls and bric-a-brac stalls for residents to have a look at.
Following on, you can head to the Junior Cricket grand finals, before stopping for lunch and celebrating all things Irish and green with St Patrick's Day events at many of the towns pubs and clubs.
The Under Western Skies festival starts in the afternoon, and you'll be showing your support for central west musicians.
That evening it's all about the Worlds Greatest Shave at the Buncha Hotel where Paul Wasson and his friends will be shaving off their beards and hair for the cause. Paul's had his beard for the past 30 years, so to see it gone, will be a great sight. It's all come after his wife lost her sister to cancer last year.
Then, Sunday boasts the Black Dog ride to raise awareness and conversation around depression and suicide prevention, followed by a charity golf day for the Hear Our Heart community - the four man ambrose is sure to be a bit of fun with a St Patrick's theme and prizes for the best dressed team.
It's a full weekend - and there are more events than just these happening - so enjoy the weather, get out, and support the community.
We'll see you there!
