The Spring Hill Activities Group has put the call out for teams of eight members to join what they say will be a highlight of the festival on March 30.
Organiser Terri Newman said the group is on the hunt for any sporting teams, trades, service, village teams or just group of mates who would like to form a team and come to enjoy the festivities.
With an entry fee of $100 to join the nostalgic event, Ms Newman said the prize pool of $1750 - $1000 for first prize, $500 for second price, $250 for third prize - was worth the drive to Spring Hill.
Tim Jones, president of the activities group said the competition will be a lot of fun and a great spectacle for the visiting crowd.
He said the group is excited to have Orange radio host Neil Gill, who will be the master of ceremonies for the competition.
The Spring Hill Whistlestop Festival will happen over two days, on the last weekend of March.
The festival will include displays of history and demonstrations in shearing, blacksmithing, old machinery and kids activities.
Entries to the Tug-O-War will close on March 28, with 10 teams required for the competition to go ahead.
Rules and entry forms are available on the Spring Hill NSW Facebook site or email springhillactivitiesgroup@gmail.com for more information.
