They provide conservation efforts to endangered animals, but this week a team of Taronga Western Plains Zoo staff showed just how dedicated they are to helping by taking part in the World's Greatest Shave.

On Thursday staff at the Dubbo Zoo shaved or coloured their hair for the annual fundraiser.
They raised over $1400 for the cause. The fundraiser was initiated by Dubbo Zoo staff member Graeme Dyball, whose head was shaved on the day.
Molly Ninney, 16, works at the Hire Centre at the Zoo and also had her hair shaved off. Molly raised appropriately $632 for the cause.

"We are really happy to get behind our staff’s initiative to support this worthwhile cause,” Dubbo Zoo operations Manager Jodie Kubski said.
“We had 12 staff colour or shave their hair on the day and it is great to see our team get behind an organisation like the Leukeamia Foundation, as they help families devastated by the impact of blood cancer in our community.”
The World’s Greatest Shave began in 1998 is one of Australia’s biggest and most loved fundraising events.
The campaign supports the Leukaemia Foundation, an organisation whose aim is to provide support, research and more for those living with blood cancers.
