The centre say it is vital the appointments are filled to ensure supplies are maintained around the region and that Wednesday and Friday are of particular concern.
In their lifetime one in three people will need blood.
Around nine million Australians are eligible to give blood, but only 500,000 actively do so with cancer patients, pregnant mums, road trauma victims, premature babies, and people with blood disorders needing blood donations every day.
Residents can make an appointment to donate on 131495 or they can visit donateblood.com.
The Dubbo Blood Donor Centre is located at 1/150 Darling Street and is open on the following days:
- Monday and Tuesday – 11.30am to 7.30pm
- Wednesday – 8am to 2pm
- Thursday and Friday – 8am to 3pm
- The first Saturday of the month from 8am to 1pm
