But that is just what aspiring singer, Jem Cassar-Daly is doing with her father, Troy, as part of his Greatest Hits tour.
The tour started in February and Jem said she was having "so much fun."
"I've honestly loved it. It's been busy, bu it's also nice to have a break where you can do a bit of song-writing," she said.
Previously Jem had done the odd performance with her father, but this is the first time that the young artist has been on tour with him.

Having completed Year 12 in 2018, Jem has decided to take gap year and pursue her musical ambitions.
Jem is a recent graduate of the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) Academy of Country Music in Tamworth, NSW.
She was also a participant in the Seniors course held in January 2019 and graduated during the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Jem said to be able to make a career out of singing would be "amazing".
In her 30 minute support set, Jem incorporates both her original songs and covers and said she likes to mix it.
"I get to change it up," Jem said of her set list during each show. "It keeps me on my toes."

Growing up in the Cassar-Daly home, Jem has been listening to various types of country music all her life, but don't expect to hear that style during her performances.
Jem said musically her biggest inspiration is Nora Jones and Missy Higgins.
"I think their music is so amazing, they're two artists I look up to," she said.
Just like her idols, Jem plays her own instruments, including some guitar, but mostly you'll see her at the piano.
Going on tour with her father and performing across the country has helped Jem to become more motivated and confident as an artist.
"It's motivating seeing other artists motivated," she said.
"And to be able to put myself out there and not be scared… it's good to put yourself out there and have more confidence."
This will be Jem's first time to Dubbbo and she said she was looking forward to the show
