"Don't come on the last day," the cheerful election manager for the State District of Dubbo said.
More than 10,000 people opted to pre-poll, now called early voting, before the 2015 NSW poll.
A whopping 22 per cent of them left it to the last minute.
Mr Schenk, whose position was previously called returning officer, knows "people don't want to queue along the footpath waiting to vote".
"It's definitely easier if they come earlier," he said.
The early voting centre is in Shop 2, 70 Talbragar Street, opposite the Castlereagh Hotel.
It will be operating from March 11 to March 22 with the exception of Sunday, March 17.
The doors will open at 8am and close at 6pm, except for Thursday, March 21, when closing time will be 8pm.
Mr Schenk is recommending voting before shops open at 9am.
"From 9am onwards parking here is pretty much impossible," he said.
"If people come earlier they can easily get a parking spot between 8am and 9am."
The election manager has been unable to get a disabled parking spot out front of the early voting centre but advises of one "across the road".
Dubbo's early voting centre is reported by the NSW Electoral Commission to be "fully wheelchair accessible".
"If anyone needs better access we can let them in the back door," Mr Schenk said.
Dubbo's early voting centre is one of four in the district.
Nominations for the seat of Dubbo closed on Wednesday with Mr Schenk revealing there are now seven.
A ballot draw is scheduled for about 10am on Thursday at the early voting centre in Dubbo, which doubles as the election manager's office.
The public is invited to attend but has been alerted to possible delays.
"They've got to do a final check of the nominations," Mr Schenk said.
"We have to wait for notification from head office before we can do it."
The 2019 state election is set down for March 23.
