Dubbo dairy farmer and head of the NSW Farmers' dairy committee Erika Chesworth is asking supermarket giants Coles and Aldi for a "fair return".

Her request follows the refusal of Coles and Aldi to follow the lead of Woolworths in ending sales of $1-a-litre milk.
“We are shocked at the stubborn reactions from Coles and Aldi to refuse to remove $1 milk from the shelves,” Ms Chesworth said.
“Dairy farmers just want a fair return for their product and are not after charity.

"We are angry that for eight years $1 milk has stripped the dairy industry of fair prices and long-term sustainability.”
Ms Chesworth said Coles and Aldi had refused to engage or listen to dairy farmers' concerns, opting instead for "publicity stunts".
"Dairy farmers must be paid a fair price that recognises the value of our fresh milk," she said.
"It must not be used as a loss leader any longer."
