The upgrade project includes a new children’s services space with a large playroom and multi-dimensional outdoor play area, 12 classrooms of varying scale fitted with IT capabilities to facilitate productive classroom and remote learning, new nursing facilities with two practical classrooms housing 12 hospital beds and three new car parking areas.
State minister responsible for TAFE Adam Marshall said the new facilities would usher in a new period of world-class training delivery to local students.
“These new fit-for-purpose facilities will transform education delivery in the region and equip students with the job-ready skills local employers are calling for here in Dubbo and across regional NSW,” Mr Marshall said.
“As a government, we are investing in the future of our regional TAFE campuses to boost training and job opportunities for our bush communities.
“These upgrades have been specifically targeted at courses we where there has been a huge increase in enrolments.

“These upgrades have been specifically targeted at courses we where there has been a huge increase in enrolments largely because we have seen growth in job creation in sectors like early childhood education and aged care.”
National Party candidate for Dubbo Dugald Saunders said the multi-million dollar investment would service a growing workforce need.
“This is a great investment because learning on the job is the best way to learn,” he said.
“We want our people to be job ready, especially in rural areas like Dubbo.
“Aged care, child care and disability services are growing sectors in our community, and I am delighted the Nationals have delivered expanded training opportunities to meet this need.”
TAFE’s Head of the Skills in Health and Community Services Cherylee Shapter said the new facilities provide a comfortable and contemporary learning space.
“These upgrades allow us to provide high-quality education delivery that is industry relevant,” she said.
“Students learning here will be job-ready when they graduate.”
