NSW Police ran a three day operation targeting drink driving.
In Dubbo, 430 random breath tests were conducted between Friday and Saturday. During that time only one drink driver was detected – who returned a mid-range blood alcohol level – and another returned a positive random drug test.
Orana Mid-Western Police Sergeant Jill Gibson said there were also no fatal collisions in the Dubbo area.
“They’re excellent results. We’re happy with people driving over the weekend,” Sergeant Jill Gibson.
“It’s great to see people obeying the road rules for the most part.”

Drink driving was down across the whole state.
There were 202,360 random breath tests conducted across NSW during Operation Drink Drive 1. Despite being more RBTs than the same operation last year, there were less drink-driving charges.
During the three days there were 259 drink driving charges, compared to 444 during the same time in 2018.
Traffic and Highway Patrol Command Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy said although the operation was over, police were still on the roads.
“We’d like to remind road users our focus on drink driving does not stop after the operation finishes,” Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy said.
There were 2330 speeding infringements issued during the operation and another 6239 for incidents not related to speeding.
