David Hobson and Marina Prior will perform at the Dubbo Regional Theatre on March 16, with their show ‘The Two Of Us.”
The two are firm friends and have been performing together for many years.
Accompanied by renowned pianist David Cameron, in a two-hour intimate performance, Marina and David will perform their classics from productions such as The Phantom of The Opera, Cats, Evita, Les Miserables, West Side Story, Guys and Dolls and more, as well as favourites from their award-winning albums.
David is one of Australia’s best-known operatic tenors, musical theatre performers and recording artists.
He has sung and performed many roles for Opera Australia, performed lead roles in musical theatre, sung for the Queen.
Marina Prior is regarded as Australia’s leading lady of musical theatre. She is best known for her lead role in The Phantom of the Opera and Cats.
Marina said the beauty of touring like this was being able to evolve the show.
“So there will be new stories and new songs, but there will also be some of the old ones that people loved from last time around,” she said.
“But also the new songs will also probably be familiar with audiences as well,” David added.

This version of the show was born in Dubbo a few years ago during a mini tour across central west NSW, they said.
“It was in Dubbo, Bathurst and Orange … that we actually created this concert,” Marina said.
“We worked on that as the basis for the tour we did last year.”
Marina and David both said it was important for them to include performances in regional towns in the tour.
“They’re beautiful theatres and it’s a wonderful way for us as Australian artists to see our own country,” Marina said.
“We don’t modify what we do (during regional performances) we bring the same passion and excellence to Dubbo … as we do to the Sydney Opera House….”
David agreed, saying it was a great privilege that people come to see their shows.
“And we do not take that for granted, that’s very important to us,” he said.
Part of the shows magic was David and Marina’s friendship, and musical director David Cameron.
“The three of us are really firm, long-standing friends and he is a hugely integral part of the show,” Marina said.
“His musical brilliance is something the audience just fall in love with and it makes our job a lot easier when we have an extraordinary vision to work with.”
