James ‘Busta’ Nelson was decisive in the victory, ripping apart Rugby’s top order after the Cougars won the toss and posted 160.
Nelson reduced Rugby to 4-10 at one stage and went on to finish with a terrific 5-8 from eight overs.

The damage was done after his spell, with Lachlan Harper’s 34 the only defence in Rugby’s total of 73.
The Cougars had earlier posted 160, with Heath Larance top-scoring at the top of the order with 78.
The men in green seemed destined to score a bigger total when they were at 3-101 but Zac Murphy (4-27) helped the third-placed Rugby fight back.
The win for CYMS cuts the gap to Rugby to just four points.
RSL-Colts remain in top spot but they were made to work for Saturday’s win against a dogged South Dubbo outfit.
The Hornets, bottom of the ladder with just one win to their name, looked certain to suffer another crushing loss when they were rolled for 97.
However, that was far from the case.
Justin Knudsen opened the bowling for Souths and jagged 4-27 from eight as Colts suffered plenty of wobbles in the chase.
Nathan Jones (16) and Jarryd Samuelson (16) helped keep Colts on track but it was left to youngsters Anthony Atlee (12 not out) and Preston Beauchamp (5 not out) to get their side across the line.
The tight two-wicket win has Colts seven points of Newtown, who defeated Macquarie in a tight contest at Lady Cutler 2 on Saturday.
The Tigers were far from their best when batting first, with only Dwayne Kent and Jacob Short getting starts.
Both failed to go on with it however and the pair was out for 34 and 32 respectively as Newtown was dismissed for 116 by a consistent Macquarie attack.
In what was a day for the bowlers, Elliot Carlin (3-19), Jake Cuthill (3-33), Jeremy Dickson (2-6) and Chad O’Brien (2-16) all contributed for the Blues.
The Newtown attack then took centre stage and it was Cameron Hellinga and David Kent who led the side to victory.
Kent took 3-28 with the new ball before Hellinga (4-10) knocked over the stubborn Rich Hawker (21) and the tail as the Blues fell for 103.
