President of the Geurie races Marty Whiteley said music, activities, a hotly contested Fashions on the Field and the six-race program kept punters happy all day.
“The crowd of 400 was a bit less than normal, probably due to the hot weather but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves,” he said.
“We had a surprise celebrity in Winx jockey Hugh Bowman who turned up on the day and he was really good.
“He talked to people, took selfies and signed autographs, he did a track side interview and he also gave a few jockey’s a pointer or two which was good of him.
“The Fashions on the field was great and that’s always an enjoyable part of the day, everyone likes to get dressed up and have a good day out.
“We would like to thank our sponsors because without them the day would not have happened.”
Nyngan trainer Rodney Robb had a good day winning four out of the six races.
