In the first incident crews from Dubbo and Delroy were called to a home on Myall Street at 5.30am on Saturday morning.
Three fire crews from Dubbo and two from Delroy responded to the call, finding the home well alight.
The house was occupied at the time of the blaze, but no one was injured.
Fire crews took three hours to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to neighbouring properties.
Dubbo Fire Station commander Mick Medlin said the scene was handed over to police and was being treated as suspicious with further investigations to be carried out.
In a separate incident around 8pm on Saturday evening, fire crews from Dubbo and Delroy stations were called to a property on Trelanvean Street in west Dubbo.
Upon arrival the crews found a shed at the back of the property well alight and threatening the neighbouring property.
“Firefighters worked to contain the fire and minimise the damage to the neighbouring house.
There was extensive damage to the shed and minor damage to the house on the property.

“There was extensive damage to the shed and minor damage to the house on the property,” Mr Medlin said.
The incident is also being treated as suspicious with police to undertake further investigations regarding the cause of the fire.
Firefighters have also attended a number of small grass fires over the long weekend.
On Thursday fire crews also assisted Dubbo police, paramedics and the volunteer rescue association after a single vehicle crash on Benolong Road.
The incident, involving a truck, saw fire and rescue crews and VRA personnel work to remove the driver who was trapped in the vehicle.
The driver was taken to hospital via helicopter with serious injuries.
