The Demons boss said he expects an improvement on the clubs 2018 season where it just missed out on a place in the finals.
“If we don’t make the finals this season I will be shattered, I am actually aiming for a top-two finish,” Bunt said.
“We got equal fourth on points and just missed out on a finals spot on percentage in 2018 so with the influx of talent into the team this year we’d want to improve.
“I think top two is well within our grasp, last year towards the end of the season we really hit our straps.
“We have talked about getting off to a better start in 2019.”
Bunt said great pre-season numbers at training bodes well for the 2019 fortunes of the club.
“We’ve had better numbers roll up for pre-season training this year than we had for regular season training last year, so there is a keenness in the group to tackle 2019, I can feel it,” he said.
“We have decided to change the way we play this season because we’ve got more height in the squad now.
“Last year we had a reasonably short side so that limited our style of play to short quick movements around the ground, we will be able to play with more variety this season and be a bit more unpredictable.
“So it is good to have such good numbers early in the year it will help us get a good start to the season.”
