The University of the Third Age (U3A) chapter in Dubbo, will hold the event on Friday, February 1 and Monday, February 4, between 10am and 12pm.
The group has been running 28 years in Dubbo for mature aged people who are keen to not only expand their knowledge, but their networking as well.
The U3A Dubbo has one of the biggest member groups in NSW and currently there are over 400 members who come from across Dubbo and surrounds.
Last year’s U3A Dubbo open/enrollment day saw 100 new members join up and President Nola Younghusband is expecting a similar turnout in 2019.

This year over 30 classes will be offered, Ms Younghusband said.
Some of the classes offered this year include digital photography, exercise, military history, Australian history, medieval history, English Literature, Ukulele and singing.
One of the newest classes offered in 2019 will be building and exploring the virtual world.
“That we hope will be an attractive thing for some of our younger members,” Ms Younghusband said of the newest class.
“This is a different and unique course involving computers and some of the recent technology associated with virtual reality.”
Ms Younghusband encouraged all mature aged Dubbo residents to come along to the open day and indulge their interests.
“This is an opportunity not only to learn something about what they’re interested in, but to socialise with people,” she said.
“For mature aged people often loneliness is a big issue and U3A provides an opportunity for interaction socially.”
Classes are held in the Community Arts Centre of the Western Plains Cultural Centre and is wheelchair accessible.
The open/enrollment day will be held downstairs in the Art Room and Science room of the Community Arts Centre.

“Although if you do join a class like digital photography or print making, you’re expected to pay for your equipment,” Ms Younghusband.
Those interested in attending are advised to turn up early as some classes fill up quickly.
