Store manager Louise Andrews says the policy began when staff noticed there were a lot of visitors from out of town arriving during the hottest part of the year.
“We do have a lot of people coming in from out of town, especially at this time of the year and a lot of them are very thirsty and parched and they don’t understand our climate,” Mrs Andrews said.
“We do it as a service to the community, we like to give back as much as possible.”

Aussie Disposals started the practice just before Christmas, during some of the hottest days of 2018 and kept it going after a favorable response from visitors.
“We just do it as our little thing to keep people coming in here, and honestly, they do spend longer in here browsing as well as a result,” Mrs Andrews said.
“It’s just the little things in life that makes a difference.”
