RSL Colts 7-190 defeated CYMS 6-169.
Colts batsman Nathan Jones was the main contributor to the Colts’ 190 with an aggressive innings of 59 which featured nine boundaries.
Nathan Finlay had the right idea and scored the majority of his runs with boundaries. He hit the CYMS bowlers to the fence eight times in his impressive innings of 37.
Campbell Watts was the pick of the CYMS bowlers with 2-16 from 8 overs.
The batting performance of the day belonged to CYMS’ Ben Williams who had Colts’ bowlers worried, hitting them to all parts of the oval.
His 75 was only cut short when he was run-out.
Newtown scored two bonus points with its win over Rugby at Lady Cutler no 2 Oval on Saturday.
Newtown 2/106 defeated Rugby 10/103.
Rugby batted first and struggled to post 103, with Matt Naden (31) and Lachie Harper (25) its best with the bat.
Newtown’s Matt Hull tore through the Rugby batting order, ending the day with 5/16.
Newtown easily ran down Rugby’s total with Cam Collins top scoring (62) and Jakob Short (22 not-out) the best with the bat.
In a cracking game, which was decided in the second last over, Macquarie 7/194 defeated Souths 193.
Justin Gavin was the best with the bat for Macquarie; his 78 featured two sixes and 10 fours. Craig Duffy was the best for Souths with 49.
