The black bitch had her fourth win for Hawker who is new to training greyhounds having held his trainer's licence for only 12 months.
“I am fairly new to the game and I am enjoying it,” he said.
“Everyone at Dubbo is good and very helpful and they are good with sharing knowledge which has helped me.
“I haven’t done anything too extravagant with Little Munchie, I put her on the lead a couple of times a week and let her out for a run.”
Hawker said he was pleased Little Munchie led early and maintained the lead to the finish line.
“She is normally a dog that likes to win from behind, so she shocked me a bit when she came out strong today,” he said.
“Once she found the rail and got the lead she wasn’t pipped. Normally she’d give up half a length at the start and then run them down, but today she came out well and stayed there. I’ll step her up a bit now and see how she goes over the four hundred next I think.”
