The state government is chipping in almost half of the cost of the project.
State Member for Dubbo Troy Grant said the work would have “lasting benefits for the local community”.
“I’ve fought to see this upgrade delivered and secured almost $200,000 in government funding,” he said.
“The Burrendong Arboretum is one of the real hidden gems of our region and this money will help the trust with the upkeep and maintenance of this wonderful facility.”

NSW Minister for Racing Paul Toole said the project was funded through the Clubgrants Category 3 Infrastructure Grants program.
“More than $50 million in funding is being provided during this current term of government for projects across sport and recreation, emergency preparedness, and arts and culture,” he said.
The government reports that the grants are funded by a “contribution from the state’s registered clubs to reinvest profits from gaming machines back into community projects”.
