Kris Stevens and Bizzi Mason are hosting a screening of Her Sound Her Story by filmmakers Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore and Michelle Grace Hunder.
The 70-minute documentary involves 45 artists who have been working in the industry across the past 60 years including Tina Arena, Renee Gayer, Missy Higgins, Kate Ceberano, Kasey Chambers, Julia Stone and Mojo Juju, the daughter of the Dubbo couple.
Audiences also hear from other women working in the music industry including producers, writers and broadcasters.
Musicians themselves, Ms Stevens and Ms Mason will direct any profit from the event to Dubbo’s Macquarie Conservatorium to “assist in sponsorship of a female student”.
The proceeds of a raffle at the screening of the documentary at the Western Plains Cultural Centre’s Black Box Theatre from 7pm on February 9 will also go to the conservatorium.
Ms Stevens tells of the couple’s desire to see the documentary inspire young women to pursue a career in music.
“There's a certain amount of effort you have to put in and you have to be persistent and passionate but these things can be achieved,” she said.

The mother of Mojo Juju points to a career peak for her daughter in 2018 after “slogging it out for 15 years”.
Along with three ARIA nominations, Mojo Juju received the 2018 JAward for the Australian Music Video of the Year with Native Title, directed by Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore.
Through her daughter, Ms Stevens was able to contact the filmmaker and secure the documentary for screening in Dubbo.
She said it revealed the experiences of women in the industry “managed by men”.
“There’s a lot of discussion about diversity, equality and women’s rights in the media,” she said.
“The documentary touches on that, specifically in the music industry, and would be of great interest to many people in our community who want to hear what these women have to say.”
