Conversely, CYMS are coming off a good win against cellar-dwellers Souths in the last round before the Christmas break and will be aiming to consolidate its top spot on the Whitney Cup ladder.
CYMS Batsmen Thomas Nelson said it would be a tough game because RSL Colts have a lot of experience.
“They are a quality side, but we are a very confident team, we are confident with our batters and we know our bowlers are also in good form,” he said.
“Our skipper Ben Knaggs has led the way for us with bat and ball and Brock Larance has been fantastic for us as have our opening bowlers.”
RSL Colts president Brad Cox said his team has a few key players out, but will always aim to win.
“We played our worst game of the year before Christmas, so we are keen to get the year off to a good start,” he said. “We get Marty Jefferies back, so hopefully he can lift us a bit.
“The break has been good because we generally have been slow starters and we play our best cricket after Christmas, so hopefully we can finish the year off strongly and start with a win against CYMS.”
