In late October a number of crimes were committed on a property in Dandaloo, near Trangie.
“The offender entered the cab of the loader and stole a UHF radio,” NSW Police State Rural Crime Co-ordinator Detective Inspector Cameron Whiteside said.
“The loader was parked about 500 metres into a paddock off Tyrie Road, Dandaloo.
“The offender also damaged fencing about two kilometres from the intersection of Tyrie and Jamea roads, Dandaloo.”
Det Insp Whiteside said tyre tracks were seen in the victim’s property directly to the loader.
During the incident, 350 litres of diesel was also stolen from the loader.
Det Insp Whiteside said the property owner had recently attended a ‘Tackling Rural Crime’ workshop that was delivered by the Trangie Rural Crime Prevention team.
“The landholder was able to put into practice what was learnt at the workshop, including a timely report to the police and crime scene preservation measures,” he said.
“The landholder secured evidence at the scene which assisted greatly in this investigation.”
Rural crime investigators and specialist forensic officers then commenced an investigation.
