Female tiger Inda was given two red, greed and white iceblocks topped with a chicken, while the 13 lemurs were fed some star-shaped watermelon, capsicum and banana.
Taronga Western Plains Zoo keeper Rachael Schildkraut said the staff liked to give the animals, like the lemurs she looked after, a little bit of festive spirit.

“We’ve got little capsicum ringlets we put on, kind of like ornaments on a Christmas tree and some frozen watermelon which we’ve put down there as well,” she said.
“They don’t get these foods very often because there’s a lot of sugar in them so on special occasions, just like Christmas they get to binge a little bit just like we do I suppose.”
The tiger’s iceblock was comprised of cat’s milk and food colouring.
“Inda is one of our most beautiful lovely tigers that we’ve got. She definitely enjoys an iceblock any day of he week but on Christmas when it’s full of extra yummy things it’s an extra special day for her,” Ms Schildkraut said.
The zoo is open every day of the year and Ms Schildkraut said Christmas Day would be a fun occasion for the staff with everyone getting together for lunch.
As for the visitors, there will be plenty of exciting things to see.
“We’ve got lots of baby animals roaming around the zoo at the moment, we’ve had a really successful year,” she said.
