The former Dubbo junior captained Sydney FC’s youth side to glory in 2014, but failed to make the grade in the senior ranks and joined the Wellington Phoenix.
After a break from the upper echelons of the game, he finally to Sydney FC on a short-term contract in November, and made his senior debut for the club in Saturday’s Sydney derby.
Speaking in a video posted to the club’s social media and website, the 24-year-old said he “couldn’t be happier” to be back in the sky blue.

“Back in Sydney, back where it all started … it just felt right,” Tratt said.
“I’m only on a short-term contract so I guess I had a point to prove, and very grateful that I was able to get the goal tonight.
“First-class players all over the pitch so you’re learning everyday and if you keep putting in the hard work opportunities will come and you’ve just got to take them when they come.”

Tratt was also happy to be “back with my family and friends”.
Captain Alex Brosque - who also scored in the win - had high praise for the cover defender Tratt, who came on in the second half and sealed the win in the final 10 minutes.
“It’s great to have him back,” Brosque said.
“For us to pick up someone like him when, especially when we’re down on troops like tonight, and for him to come in and score was very rewarding for him.
“We were happy for him.”
