The countdown to Christmas is coming to a close, but the DMSC is expected to sell another five tonnes of Prawns, on top of the two tonnes they have already sold.
Local owner Mark Knaggs said although some items are more expensive this year, the DMSC has still been serving large amounts of product.
With Pork Loins only $12.79 per kilo compared to last years price of $20, the DMSC has even seen a slight influx in customers this year.

Mr Knaggs said he has had an incredibly busy festive season.
“The busyness of our business this festive season has been quite surprising,” he said.
“We didn’t know how busy it was going to be because of the drought.
“But it seems when people are doing it tough, they celebrate with a meal.
“People aren’t buying quite as much, but by the same token, I think they are buying more. It’s been a funny one.”
The recent cyclone that hit Northern Australia did frighten the Dubbo Meat And Seafood Centre team; however Prawn farms remained unaffected.
Mr Knaggs said it is important to remember the demand of Prawns has increased their value.
“Prawns are $2 per kilo more than last year”, he said.
Mr Knaggs has some tips for Prawn buyers this Christmas.
“It’s best to eat them just peeled… the shell will peel off easier when the Prawn is cold,” he said.
“Even though Prawns are our most popular product, customers are buying a lot of Turkey this year… I think a lot of cooking shows are influencing people to try Turkey.”
The sale rate of Ham this year is a reflection of this year’s Pork industry.
An estimated 1500 legs of Ham are expected to walk out of the Dubbo Meat And Seafood Centre doors by Christmas Eve.

Mr Knaggs and his DMSC team would like to thank the Dubbo region for their continuous support and wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas.
