Council is the process of developing a master plan for the pool that will outline future developments.
As part of their community consultation, more than 700 residents completed a survey on what they would like at the pool. Of those, almost three-quarters of respondents said they wanted an indoor pool at the facility.

Dubbo Regional mayor Ben Shields said he wanted Dubbo to have a swimming facility that was the envy of other regional towns and cities.
“Dubbo pool has always stood out from others because of our great water slide but this year we added the splash pad which makes it even more unique,” he said.
“Our aim is to make the pool a great place for families and people looking for fun but also for anyone who wants to swim for sport or fitness.”
Cr Shields said because the indoor pool was so highly requested it would be a high priority.
He said it would be beneficial for council to look at what other cities had come up with and aim high to ensure the facility caters to the needs of the region into the future.
“We should do it once and do it properly. We know that pools are highly valued by residents so we owe it to everyone to ensure Dubbo has one of the best regional pools,” the mayor said.
