The Wellington product in the midst of pre-season with his new club and spent time this week with some of his Titans teammates playing Santa for sick kids at a Gold Coast hospital.
That was break from the intense sessions in which Peachey has mainly figured in the centres.
"There was a lot (of competition) at Penrith too, but I seemed to get the position," the NSW Origin utility said.
"I've got a lot of confidence in myself."
Peachey began pre-season with the Titans three weeks earlier than expected and said it was about making him as comfortable as possible with his new teammates.
The fact he was already familiar with some of the methods of Titans coach Garth Brennan from their days together at Penrith was making the transition a lot easier than he expected.
"Just names of plays and defensive systems, stuff like that, it was a lot easier to transfer to a new club," he said.
"I thought it was going to be a lot harder and I'm glad I did come in earlier because I would be struggling if I didn't."
Peachey has already denied reports he tried to back out of the three-year deal to join the Titans earlier this year, and is certainly giving the impression of being happy in his new surroundings.
"What would you rather have? The mountains or the beach?," Peachey said.
"We're pretty lucky ... the missus and the kid are loving it, so that's all that matters."
