People from Dubbo and Narromine donated thousands of items, including DVDs, books, toys and sporting equipment for those facing financial hardship towards the Salvation Army’s Christmas Cheer appeal.
As well as people coming into the Centre to drop off their donations, there were various drop off points within Dubbo, making it easy for people to give the gift of giving this festive season.

Various local schools and businesses also donated.
And thanks to the Macquarie Regional Library’s Food for Fines amnesty, donations of non-perishable food, including packaged and canned, will be distributed to the Salvation Army’s Christmas appeal.
Over the month of December, the Dubbo Library have held the amnesty for people facing overdue fines.
Borrowers had the chance to wipe the slate clean when they returned their overdue items and clear their fines.

In return they were also asked to donate the non-perishable food.
Orana Corps Salvation Army officer, Captain David Sutcliffe was overwhelmed by the support.
“I just want to say a huge thank you to the community,” he said.
“It’s been quite overwhelming the support and generosity.”
