The Ulysses Motorcycle Club hosted its 25th annual toy run throughout the town’s centre and then onto Narromine on Sunday.
The toy-drive saw 119 bikes celebrated Christmas cheer, in the aim of receiving donations and raising awareness so children do not go without gifts in the holiday period.
President Dave Readford said they had a massive amount of items donated in Dubbo and Narromine for the Salvation Army to distribute.
While the final tally hadn’t been confirmed, Mr Readford said they had raised $100 more dollars than the previous year.
“It’s about giving something back to those that can’t afford presents for their kids,” Mr Readford said.
“Some people donated cash, some people donated presents, the Salvos are taking donations up until Christmas at their headquarters.”
He said the it was a tradition for motorcycle clubs to do toy runs but the process would “help a lot of people have a nice Christmas”.
Mr Readford said despite being a social motorcycle club for older riders the toy run was a “community event where anyone who rides a bike or trike was welcome”.
He said the event drew riders from Coonamble and other areas in the region whom he thanked for supporting the cause.
“We had road bikes, dirt bikes, scooters, vintage bikes, trikes and everything mixed up in it,” Mr Readford said.
“It was good to see everyone out to have a good time, raise some money and have the benefits for the salvos.”
