The clear ladder leader will play Souths who are languishing at the bottom of the ladder without a win.
Colts will be aiming to win its seventh straight match on Saturday.
The Colts’ top order is in good form, Wes Giddings belted 89 last week to help the team to a healthy 7-243, and the bowling attack has caused plenty of heartache for opposition sides so far this season.
Giddings said his side “probably could have made a few more” while lauding the bowling attack for its “variety”.
Upsets do happen though and Souths will throw everything they have at the in-form Colts at Victoria Park No 2 Oval.
Second-placed CYMS takes on fourth-placed Rugby at Victoria Park No 1 Oval in what could be a make or break game for Rugby.
Currently sitting in fourth place on the ladder a win against CYMS would help Rugby launch a bid for a top-three finish.
But CYMS is coming off a good win against Macquarie and batsman Stuart Naden said the team is taking a “professional” attitude into games that has resulted in winning form.
“We were pretty professional (last week) and we have been for a few weeks now,” Naden said.
CYMS’ bowlers also performed well last week with the five bowlers used taking two wickets each.
Third-placed Newtown will play fifth-placed Macquarie at Lady Cutler No 2 Oval with Newtown’s batsmen full of confidence after a big victory last week.
The side’s batsmen, led by Wayne Dunlop who scored 142, blasted Souths all over the park last week and Macquarie bowlers may well be a tad nervous about this week’s game.
Dunlop said the side “got it right” and “clicked” last week.
“As a team, that’s the best we’ve batted this year,” Dunlop said.
“Someone went on and made that big score and we still had wickets in hand at the end.”
Macquarie was bowled out for 113 by CYMS last week and will need to lift their game if they are any chance of getting the points on Saturday.
