A truck carrying a load of cattle has crashed, landing off the side of Beryl Bridge near Dunedoo and causing major traffic delays up to as late as the following evening.

A NSW Fire and Rescue Gulgong spokesperson said emergency services including NSW Fire and Rescue, Orana Mid-Western Police District, Gulgong Rural Fire Brigade and the Volunteer Rescue Assocaiton responded to the single vehicle crash.
The crash occurred about 9.40pm on Wednesday night causing delays up to Thursday evening.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews performed first aid to the injured driver before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived.
Firefighters worked through the night to contain a major diesel leak from ruptured fuel tanks on the prime mover.
Diversions were put in place while the integrity of the bridge was assessed.
Life traffic reported the Castlereagh Highway between Beryl Road and Golden Highway near Dunedoo was closed in both lanes with diversions in place as late as 4.15pm.
People travelling in the area were warned to allow for additional travel time and to heed the diversions.
“This closure will remain in place into tonight due to complex salvage operation and damaged infrastructure,” a Live Traffic NSW spokesperson said.
The NSW Fire and Rescue spokesperson said no waterways were impacted and crews were starting the final stages of the clean up about 12.00pm on Thursday.
