Officers say it has come to their attention that some property offences were being reported on Facebook sites across Dubbo, rather than to the police.
Orana Mid-Western Police District officers took to their Facebook account to make a plea with the public to report offences through the correct channels.
“In order to better serve our community we implore you to contact police about any thefts, break in or suspicious people in your area,” the statement said.
“This allows us to better target these offenders in the right places at the right times.”
