James will be joined by guitarist Josh Owen in acoustic duo format where they will play a range of songs, including music from Australian Crawl, to some of James’ latest numbers.
They will perform at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre (DRTCC) on Friday, March 15.
“We did a lot of these regional places last year and it went really well so we figured there’s demand out there..,” James said while speaking to the Mailbox Shopper.

“It’s just a good way to do it. Not a lot of people get out to the country I don’t think.”
James has much respect for regional areas, particularly the great venues he gets to perform in.
Playing in theatre’s, like the DRTCC, suit the acoustic shows, James said.
“They’re properly run places so for the audiences and performers, it’s just a really good environment to play in and see acts,” he said.
“Most regional areas have these really good theatre’s.”

The legendary Aussie rocker is no stranger to Dubbo, having played at the Red Hot Summer Tour in 2017.
Although that gig was quite different to the upcoming tour, James said he enjoys playing in both rock band shows and intimate acoustic shows.
“They’re actually quite different sort of shows. The acoustic one people tend to sit and listen and sing-a-long, but whereas the band (show) is a much bigger, fatter, louder, larger experience,” he said.
What audiences can expect from the upcoming Dubbo show was “just a good night out”, according to James.
“Everyone is going to know all of the songs. It’s all (Australian) Crawl stuff, it’s my solo stuff, it’s acoustic with Josh Owen, who is a great guitar player and great singer,” he said.

“I think they (audiences) know that it’s going to be a good 75-90 minutes of stuff they know. Occasionally we’ll throw in something newer…”
Currently James is touring with his band and will finish up mid December before going on a break at Christmas.
“I’m so grateful and happy that we’re getting bigger crowds than we have… it just seems to get better,” he said.
“I think because I’ve been around for a while now it comes around (naturally) again.”
After the ‘A Crawl to Now’ tour wraps up in May, James will be kept busy on the road performing gigs across the nation.
“We’re going up until April 2020,” he said.
“It’s great, I’m a very lucky person to be able to be doing it on the level I get to do it after this long.”
