As the operation make it happen came to a close, Western Region Commander Assistant Commissioner Geoff McKechnie said it was an incredible number of arrests and charges on top of other police work.
He said the results reinforced the seriousness of domestic violence in the community.
Its a really serious offence and were really giving it a push at the moment and cracking down as hard as we possibly can on people that continue to not get the message about domestic violence, Assistant Commissioner McKechnie said.
He urged victims of domestic violence to call the police and his message for perpetrators was simple, stop it, youre going to get locked up.
When police responded to domestic violence reports during the operation, they took legal action in 75 per cent of cases.
Thats a very high number because domestics can take many forms and sometimes theres not an actual offence committed, its a verbal thing, Assistant Commissioner McKechnie said.

He said the ongoing problem of domestic violence prompted the operation.
Domestic violence continues to be a really significant issue for us in Western Region statistically year on year and were up again this year in terms of the number of domestic assaults, Assistant Commissioner McKechnie said.

It continues to be one of our really high crime categories, there are some messages in that for the community.
Were happy people are confident in reporting domestic violence to us and we need that to continue, but we really need people who are perpetrating this kind of offence to have a really long, hard look at themselves because they will be detected.
He said they would continue to target domestic violence.
If people out there are continually committing offences, are continually breaching these orders ... were going to watch you and when you breach that order, you are going to get locked up, Assistant Commissioner McKechnie said.
During the operation police conducted 1460 domestic violence order compliance checks where they approached known offenders, people who are currently subject of apprehended domestic violence orders.
