Narromine Lodge Secretary Neil Richardson said the continuing drought crisis had had a disastrous effect on the farming community.
“The Masonic community have thrown their support behind the cause, with the Pennant Hills brethren making a generous donation of $6000 to Lodge Narromine 236 to assist farmers in need,” he said.
“Our members, in turn, have elected to donate the money to the Lions Club so that they might distribute it equitably to those in need.”
“Thank-you to the Masonic community of NSW and ACT, Worshipful Master RW Bro Bill Welch, the Brethren of Lodge Rudyard Kipling 143 of Pennant Hills and Lodge Narromine 236, for their very generous donation of $6,000,” she said.
“Many of our farmers do not have the financial resources to support their local businesses and this will inject much-needed cash to continue to make these businesses viable.”
