Council made the decision to waive the fees at council-operated cemeteries on Monday night, after it was found there were no charges at the New Dubbo Cemetery to bury an infant, but cost were incurred in Wellington.
Dubbo Regional mayor Ben Shields said the council fees would be waived until June 2019 when a thorough review could be done on the cemetery costs.
Cr Shields said thankfully, burials for children under 12-months-old were not common in the Dubbo local government area.
The funeral director fees will still apply.
