Starting on November 29, residents in the 2818, 2820, 2821, 2822, 2830 and 2868 postcodes will be eligible to join the DDL trial.
Service NSW Dubbo manager Paul Sutton said 1500 Dubbo motorists had taken part in the initial trial.
“It’s much more secure than having your licence in your pocket where you have the opportunity to lose your wallet. This way if you do you can grab a phone and download the app and you’ll have your digital driver’s licence ready to go,” Mr Sutton said.

He said the new app would be easier to use than the beta from the first trial. It would also have additional features such as including a car’s registration details, being able to renew a licence and pay fines.
“Our people on the road who are using this every day are loving the new features,” he said.
Dubbo MP Troy Grant while participation was voluntary, all eligible drivers should test the technology.
“I’ve found that more and more I’m using my phone to do banking, messaging, lots of work related stuff so it’s a natural progression to have my driver's licence there,” he said.
“I’ve been puled over a couple of times for RBT stops and I’ve used my licence there. I’ve used it checking in to airports, hiring cars... it’s been extremely handy.”
Mr Sutton said the trial would be opened to all of NSW in early-to-mid 2019.
Drivers need to create a MyServiceNSW account on the website to participate.
