Australia Post is expecting to deliver more than 150,000 letters to the North Pole this year. Children can track the letter through the interactive online tracker and for the first time replies from Santa can be large print for children with low vision.
Australia Post spokesperson Michelle Skehan said Christmas was a special time of year for children of all ages and she said she was pleased to be able to invite more families to get involved and celebrate the festivities.
“Santa Mail is not only a cherished Christmas tradition in many households, but also a wonderful way for children to practise their letter writing skills at school or home. Sending a letter to Santa is a fun and easy way to show kids how to address, stamp and post a letter,” Ms Skehan said.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
The letters to Santa should be sent to Santa, North Pole, 9999. They should include a 65 cent Christmas stamp on the front of the envelope and a return address on the back so Santa can post a reply.
Low vision children should address the envelope to Santa Mail (low vision) North Pole, 9999.
Christmas letters need to be sent before Friday, December 14.
