The grant is one of nine totalling $330,000 from the 2018 Community Building Partnerships program for projects in the Dubbo electorate.
Organisations in the Dubbo local government area have scored four of the nine grants. Dubbo Junior Rugby Union Club has secured about $39,000 for scoreboards for Victoria Park No.2 and No. 3 ovals, and Geurie Rodeo Committee $28,000 for “shaded grandstands” at Geurie Sport and Recreation Reserve.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section has received $25,000 for a “ground power unit”.
Macquarie Home Stay managing director Rod Crowfoot has welcomed its grant as a sign of continuing support for the accommodation facility for regional residents needing somewhere to stay before and/or after treatment at Dubbo Hospital.
“We’ve ridden a wave of absolute support from all of community and government and the fact that this is continuing for us is true recognition of the value of home stay and what it can achieve,” he said.
The managing director said “a bit over half” of the perimeter fencing at the 3.4-hectare property in east Dubbo was complete.

“We’ve still got another block to go and it’s the area down towards the roundabout,” Mr Crowfoot said.
He said the grant would also give Dubbo and regional artists the opportunity to adorn the 100-metre Cobbora Road boundary of soon-to-be-opened Macquarie Home Stay, reducing exposure of the accommodation facility to passing motorists while improving their view.
“Now we have been awarded the grant we get the chance to have discussions with interested people so we can work out some ideas,” Mr Crowfoot said.
The managing director said concrete panels would be installed along the fence line for displaying of artworks.
State Member for Dubbo Troy Grant announced the grants from the Community Building Partnerships program which has funded about 13,800 projects in the past decade.
“The NSW government’s strong economic management ensures we are in a position to invest in these important local projects,” he said.
